Potato dauphinoise
Ingredients
300ml/10fl oz cream
2 large potatos, thinly sliced
2 clove garlic, chopped
1½ lemons, zest only
110g/4oz smoked cheese or cheddar
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Serves 4
Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.
Heat the cream in a pan until just simmering and add the potato, garlic and lemon zest, stir gently to coat the potatoes and simmer for two minutes.
Sprinkle over the cheese and season and put in the oven for 15 minutes.
Serve.
