I watched a programme on T.V and a couple were being interviewed who had eaten the placenta after she had given birth. Apparently it's like eating liver. The interviewer said she had rung up the Vegetarian Society who say it's ok to eat it. Any thoughts anybody? |

Well I suppose you're not killing yourself to get it, But it still sounds grose and no way would I even consider it. |

I highly doubt that a lot of vegetarians would want to eat it. OK, noanimals are killed to make it, but in all honesty, i think thata good deal of people would be put off eating it, whether they were vegearians or non-vegetarians. |

The placenta is just another by-product of the body, exactly same as milk and eggs, and bogies are.
So each to their own I guess, but I think I'd tend to avoid eating it myself, just as I tend avoid consuming my own monthly...
I'll get my iron and protien elsewhere thanks. Very, very yuck! |
