FORUM TOPIC: Battenburg Cake - Where can I buy suitable? |

I used to really enjoy battenburg cakes, but had to stop when I started reading the ingredients. There always seems to be a food colouring (red) which is of the E120 series (eg cochineal). Although all major stores have labels showing their suitability for Vegetarians, they fail on the Battenburg cake. Are there no veggie friendly red food colourants being used by the food industry? Or do any of you know of a brand which is veggie friendly. Regards |

I have found a battenburg cake that does not have E120 in - they are individual ones in a packet of 6 from Lidl - not sure what they taste like yet!! |
