Can anybody give me any tips on how to cook lentils properly (I know I sound thick!!)!! Everytime I cook them they go really mushy and discusting - I am trying to convince my family that they want to eat them really and that they are really good for you. That is hard to do when you can't eat the mess on your plate yourself!! HELP

I don't know about anybody else but I follow the instructions on back of the packet and never normally have a problem. Having said that, the instructions change depeding what brand you get, so check it out before you cook!!

I do know what you mean - I find if I cook them too long, then they do get very mushy and they look discusting to eat when they are like that. The instructions on the packet are normally a good guideline to go by - I don't really have any problems cooking them (at the moment)!!
